Closed Beta: What to Expect
Everything you need to know about our closed beta program — how to join, what's included, and how your feedback shapes the future.
A tale alive with your imagination
A unique storytelling RPG rooted in Nordic folklore. You play with your own words, the world remembers and grows in endless depth.
Fifty seconds from the village calm to the forest's edge.
Beyond the village lies the forest, and in the forest lives everything your grandmother warned you about. Step into a world built on Nordic folklore, where every choice weaves the tale onward — and no two adventures are alike.
Trolls, mist and mire — painted like a Bauer fairytale. The village, the black lake and the old mine are built by hand, and every playthrough finds its own paths. What you do stays in the world.
Companions with wills, weaknesses and opinions of their own about your plans — or make a character from scratch. The game master remembers who you are and plays accordingly. As for the humour, they supply it themselves.
Write what you do and the game master carries the tale onward — no rulebooks to study, no wrong moves. You pay in real money for what you play: no points, no subscription, and you see every öre.
Describe what you do, and the game master answers every action — remembering your choices, reading your character, and shaping challenges to fit your journey alone. No scripts. No rails. Just your story.
Your story, painted before your eyes. Every turn of the tale gets its own picture, in a style inspired by the fairytale worlds of John Bauer and Arthur Rackham — hushed forests, long shadows, and trolls that look like they've been standing there a very long time.
Immerse yourself fully as a dramatic narrator reads your adventure aloud, accompanied by atmospheric music that shifts with the mood of your tale.
Traverse a hand-crafted world map with over 30 unique locations. Every journey reveals new encounters, hidden paths, and ancient secrets waiting to be discovered.
Bring friends along for the ride. With hot seat multiplayer for up to 3 players on tablet or TV, choose your roles and face the darkness together — all from the comfort of your couch.
Gather around the tablet or cast to the big screen. Eldmyr is built for hot seat gaming — pass the device, take turns, and experience the story together. No extra controllers needed.
At the edge of an ancient forest, the village of Eldmyr sleeps uneasily. The troll has taken the blacksmith's family. Strange lights flicker in the woods. And you... you've just arrived.
A small settlement at the forest's edge, where brave souls gather before venturing into the unknown.
Deep beneath the mountain, something ancient stirs. Few who enter return unchanged.
Ancient trees whisper secrets to those who listen. But beware — the forest has its own agenda.
Still waters hide forgotten depths. The lake remembers what the world has forgotten.
Nordic Folklore • John Bauer • Dark Fantasy • Scandinavian Mythology
The truly unique thing about Eldmyr is that you can create a character entirely your own. Describe who you want to be — a brave smith's apprentice, a cowardly bard, a cat convinced it's a general — and the storyteller brings them to life with a face, a voice and a place of their own in the tale. No one else plays quite yours.
Beta testers' favourites — ready to play
Baker
Bakes bread sturdy enough for self-defence. Has opinions on all your plans, especially the bad ones.
Necromancer
A grumpy old man with a runny nose and a knack for resurrection. He's never satisfied — but he always comes back.
Wight
Small of stature, big of mouth. Ville knows every path, stone and shortcut in the forest — and will happily remind you that you took the wrong one. Kind when it counts, sour just in case.
How we work. The world of Eldmyr is built by people — the village, the troll cave, the black lake, the characters and the adventure they live in. A story engine, driven by AI, improvises the tale, the pictures and the voice within that world as you play. It is our game master's voice, not our author. The visual style draws on John Bauer and Arthur Rackham, artists whose work has long been in the public domain — no living artist's style is imitated. And the same honesty that applies to the price applies to the technology: you see exactly what happens, and what it costs.
